B. P. Acharya
B. P. Acharya is a senior officer of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and the home secretary of Andhra Pradesh state. Acharya is accused of corruption related to industrial infrastructure Real-estate projects in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. Acharya was former managing director of APIIC. He was arrested on January 30, 2012.
==Involvement in EMAAR Boulder Hills Project==
There are allegations that Acharya among other government officials colluded with the promoters of the Boulder Hills project in Hyderabad to defraud the state of revenues from the real-estate project. It is alleged that officials were allocated parcels of the property at deeply discounted prices compared to the prevailing market price. Acharya who previously ran APIIC and seems to have conflicts of interest with the developers, have refuted many of these allegations and defended earlier land allotment decisions.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Acharya denies wrongdoing )〕
